Tropical Ulcer in the Hissar District of the Punjab

so far from the Punjab.* This paper is based on a clinical observation of 60 cases of tropical ulcer occurring in the Hissar district of the Southern Punjab, where the climate is dry with little rainfall and the soil is mostly sandy. Etiology.?The following points were noted: (1) The ulcers were found generally in children and adolescents up to the age of 18, and were not common later. (2) They were mostly found in the poor class of patients who were subjects of malaria, anaemia, avitaminosis or malnutrition. (3) Cases began to appear in the months of September, the number increased in October, November and December and started falling in January. (4) Trauma played a definite part in the aetiology of the ulcer, and most of the patients gave the history of a small abrasion to
